Athlete's Foot

If you think you have athlete's foot and its symptoms haven't subsided after a week or so of using OTC treatment, it's time to make an appointment to see a board-certified dermatologist. In situations like this, a prescription-based antifungal (either oral or topical) is often needed to get rid of the infection. If you are dealing with diabetes, nerve damage in your feet or other problems that impact the health of your feet it's even more important that you see a podiatrist right away if you notice symptoms of athlete's foot or other problems.

Pediatric Foot Care

Podiatrists treat problems with feet, toes, toenails and lower legs. They also treat walking, running and jumping problems. If children have feet or movement problems, seeing a podiatrist can help them stay active. While some foot issues, such as clubfoot, are seen at birth, most foot problems in children are discovered later by the pediatrician. Any problems usually appear in the early walking stages, about one to three years old. Different conditions will present with varying signs and symptoms.
