Plantar Warts

The most common neuroma in the foot is Morton’s neuroma, which occurs between the third and fourth toes.

Warts on the Foot & Ankle

Warts found on the foot and ankle often referred to as Plantar Warts, are hard, grainy growths that appear on the bottom of the heels or at the balls of the feet. They are caused by viruses. A small crack in the skin or a decrease in the immune system allows the virus to enter and remains in the dermal layer.

How to Treat Plantar Warts

At Home Treatment Options:

Plantar warts may be treated with home remedies and over-the-counter acid medication. If they become resistant to home treatment, painful or spread, however, you need to consult a podiatrist for care.

Podiatrist Treatment Options:

Doctor’s treatments include freezing the warts with liquid nitrogen, removing the wart with laser or surgery, or applying heavy acid strength with serial debridement at the office.
