COVID-19 Update

On March 31, 2020, Family Podiatry of Maryland consolidated or closed several locations in light of the coronavirus pandemic.  Thanks to the efforts of local, state and federal government and the cooperation and sacrifices of Marylanders who stayed home and practiced social distancing, the state is taking steps to reopen.

Similarly, we are taking steps to return to normal business operations, but we want to do so in a way that is safe and protects your health and well-being and that of our staff.  Over the course of the next few weeks we will expand office hours and surgical procedures to serve your podiatric needs in the following locations:

Reisterstown and Baltimore locations.  Towson will reopen soon as the level of need rises.

We continue to follow all the CDC infection control guidelines and have implemented several additional protocols to protect you.  Here’s what you can expect when you receive care at Family Podiatry of Maryland:

  • A member of our team will call to remind you of your appointment.  The reminder call will include a few questions to make sure you are not experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms, i.e., fever, coughing, shortness of breath, change in or loss of taste and smell.
  • You will be asked to wear a face mask or other face-covering to your appointment.
  • The reception area may look a little different because we’ve spaced out appointments to reduce patient interaction.
  • When you arrive on the day of your appointment someone will take your temperature.  If a friend or member of the family accompanies you to your appointment, they too will be required to wear a face mask or other face covering.  We may ask them to wait in the car until your appointment is finished.  Don’t worry, we’ll call them to let them know you’re ready.
  • Staff are also required to wear surgical masks, gloves, and other personal protective equipment (PPE) as appropriate.
  • Our exam rooms undergo appropriate sanitizing and hard surface disinfection after each patient encounter.
  • All employees are required to take precautionary health measures, including frequent handwashing, use of hand sanitizers, and staying home if sick.
